Can you help?

We urgently needs volunteers to help with the administration of the club. It doesn't need to take over your life just a few hours now and again. So why not give something back to the local community and do something to really help the Wanderers and Belles.
The Mulbarton Wanderers committee has the following positions which must be filled to enable the club to keep running. If you feel you would be able to help please let either your manager or parent rep know. The committee meets once a month at the World’s End, so an excuse to get out of the house and down the pub.
General Secretary
The General Secretary is the single point of contact for the club so all “official” contact with the club comes through this person. This is generally in the form of correspondence from the leagues and the FA regarding rule changes, news and disciplinary matters, but also involves contact with other bodies such as the local councils, village hall, and suppliers like our insurers and Norse who cut the pitches and mark the lines. While the General Secretary deals with some of these directly they are generally just a “post office”, passing the correspondence on to Managers or other committee members to action. The General Secretary’s details are published in league and FA directories so you can expect some telephone calls from time to time as well. Increasingly contact is via Email so access to a computer is essential. At the core of the job is making sure the club is correctly registered with the Football Association, and the leagues and mandatory insurance is placed each year.
Fixture Secretary
This job is all about making sure that all our teams have a pitch to play their games. When the general secretary registers teams they will point out to the leagues which teams share a pitch. When the fixtures are published the teams are then kept apart; so at the start of the season this job generally looks after itself. However, once the bad weather comes in January and February there is the need to rearrange games. The league will inform the club of any fixture changes and it’s the Fixture secretary’s job to make sure these don’t result in a clash.

Registrations Secretary
It costs a fair amount of money to run this club and while we get some sponsorship and help the majority of the club’s funding comes from making sure all our players are registered and have paid their subs. Team managers are responsible for this but coordinating the information and maintaining a list of who is registered is the job of the registration secretary. It involves issuing and taking receipt of the clubs registration forms, logging players’ details and chasing up managers where there are gaps. At the end of each season we also present trophies for appearances and recording this information is part of the job.
Minutes Secretary
Communication across the club is a hard job and one we can always improve. The time for discussing matters affecting the whole club is the monthly committee meeting to which all members (and parents of youth players) are welcome. Recording the decisions taken and actions required is the job of the minutes secretary.
