At Mulbarton Wanderers Juniors the emphasis is all about having a
good time and learning the basic skills required to play football.
Training is run by a team of volunteers that work with small groups of
children based on their age and experience to coach them into better
players.
Training
takes place on a Saturday morning on Mulbarton Common and includes a
number of team and individual activities focussing on a different aspect
of the game. This may be passing, shooting, heading, goalkeeping or
general fitness. The sessions are run by volunteers who will all have
been checked by the Criminal Record’s Bureau. We have a high number of
FA qualified coaches to ensure that all the children who are members of
the club are receive quality coaching – as you would expect from one of
Norfolk’s most well established standard Chartered football clubs. The
FA’s standard chartered status is not easily earned and at Mulbarton we
are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards laid down.

Usually
the session will end with a 5 a side game under FA mini soccer rules
giving our young players the opportunity to show off the skills they
have learned with us or in the back garden or park in a team game.
The Junior age group is a lot of fun and builds the foundation for
the club’s other teams where competitive matches are an additional
aspect of the club’s activities. Experience tells us that the strong
bonds and friendships made at the football club are strong and often
last all the way through teenage years to adulthood. Often children will
meet and make friends with a whole new group of children and open up a
new social network that is different to their school or home friends.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Mulbarton Juniors (or
your son is) then the best thing to do is come along on a Saturday
morning - look out for Jeff
You
can join in a few sessions to see how it goes. Don’t be shy- you know
you will have a great time and if after a couple of weeks it’s not for
you, then you can always have a break and try again knowing how things
work. Once you are sure you want to come and join us we can sort out the
membership forms and fees that will register you as a Mulbarton Player
with the Club and the Norfolk FA.
