Norwich City Girls 7 Belles 1

The
U10 Belles set off their league debut away against Norwich City Girls on
a very fresh morning at Thorpe recreation ground.
The girls started off very well and found that defending was the
highest priority within the game, against a fine selection of Norwich
players. Good defending from Cheyenne & Rosie, stopped City producing a
early goal but could only hold on for so long until, good play from City
produced a excellent goal quickly followed by two more, and if Lauren
was not between the sticks it would have certainly been more!
Quickly
the Belles lifted their heads, and excellent hard work from the Belles
mid field (with included Emma, Jordon & Yasmin), allowed Yasmin to push
the ball forward into Jasmin's path.
Jasmin took the ball calmly around the strong City defence and beat the
keeper, slotting the ball in City's bottom right hand corner producing
the best 'Birthday girl' goal of the match. The Belles walked in at half
time 3-1 down. With a quick change of mid field and forwards, saw Helen
slot in along side Jasmin to which good marking from the City players
stopped the forward line producing anymore goals in the match.
Lauren pulled off a excellent number of saves within the whole
match, pouncing on any ball which came within her reach leaving the City
girls frustrated. Lauren was certainly the girl of the match! Lauren
could only keep the City girls at bay for a number of minutes until City
were able to
score 4 more goals.
Next week training will be on the common at 10am

Mulbarton Belles kicked off there season with a pre match friendly
with Firside.
All the team were in high spirits, after many months of training hard
and finally being of age to be entered into the Norfolk Girls League.
The team worked hard against a very good side, and after being
camped in the Firside half for a number of minutes, got their reward
with Jasmine slotting the ball into the net. Excellent defending from
Firside prevented the Belles from a number of chances. The occasional
Firside quick brake put the Belles under pressure, although good
defending from Rosie and a fine save from Lauren, left the Belles
walking in at half time with a 3-0 lead.
The Management were often hampered, with the decision of which
players to sub from a fine selection of team players on the bench. With
many changes of players to the starting team for the second half, saw
Firside pull a early goal back with a super run from their full back
along the touch line and hit the back of the Belles net. Two more
excellent goals quickly followed from Firside, and saw the Belles on
their back foot for the first time of the match.
A change in defenders saw Holly tighten the defence up, to which she
also pushed forward and found the Firside net from a close range shot.
With Yasmin continually working hard in the middle of the park and
winning every ball, allowing Jasmine & Cheyenne to link up and Cheyenne
scoring her first goal to open her account for the Belles. New starter
Tilley worked hard with much enthusiasm, along with Jordon with the
final score finishing a brilliant 5-3 win to the Belles.
Goals from Jasmine 2,Holly 2,Cheyenne 1.
Next week the Belles kick off their league to debut against Norwich
City Girls at Thorpe Park.
